Speed run of Super Metroid in 4 segments, completed on June 15 2004. An alternate segment 4 achieves a time of 0:37 without the use of the "Murder beam" glitch. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60fps high quality. Author's comments: An improved version of my single-seg any% run for easy download better viewing. Just a few weeks ago I made a segmented version of my 0:38, trying to improve every room I could ending with a 0:37. When I attempted to record it... 100% speed run of Super Metroid, completed on February 24 2004. Was the world record until June 3 2004. Author's comments: Hey, first off: light-hearted comment, this run (literally) was based on a 9 month project since my 1:31/100%. Doing tons and tons of pure speed runs without saving was basically what made this run possible (aside all the people who contributed with the tricks). As i said before, i can now play easily at least without doing too 'much' mistakes over more than 30 minutes of... Topics: Super Metroid, 100%, Super Nintendo
100% speed run of Super Metroid, completed on June 3 2004. Was the world record until June 4 2004. Author's comments: This is a cleaner version of my previous 0:58. That 0:58 was just bad in every segment(I luckily got the last one a bit decent)so as I promised I made a new one with every trick there is to make it worth-seeing. I was rather expecting a 0:57 instead of this when I got the last save in Norfair with 0:45. I somehow managed to get a solid 0:56 at the ending time. It makes me think... Super Metroid - 14% (aka. glitchless/legit low%) TAS in 0:27 by Saturn, completed in January 1, 2008, with a small improvement added during the big Metroid escape in July 2008. This is a huge improvement to the previous 0:35 run by Terimakasih, showing a fully optimized route, alot of new and never before seen speed tricks (most noticeably the WS Lake HBJ without taking the Missile pack), and crazy boss strategies throughout the run. It beats the game with the least amount of items (if not... Topics: Super Metroid, TAS, Tool-assisted speedrun, Emulated run, Saturn, 14%, low%, Super Nintendo
"This is an improvement of 627 frames (143 frames ingame) over my last run in the same category. I got motivated to start the run due to a lot of discussion and testing breaking out about a potential upcoming 100% run, and due to some of the improvements that had been shown in recent runs. The vast majority of the improvement, over 400 frames, comes from Tourian, due to a couple of key realizations I had about the Metroid rooms during the making of the run. A lot of the rest come from... Topics: SNES, TAS, TASVideos, NESVideos, Super, Metroid, Samus, cpadolf

This is my 0:55 100% speed run for Super Metroid, played on the console. I am very pleased with this run, as it beats my old time of 1:00 as well as the previous record of 0:58. Super Metroid - 100% TAS in 0:36 by Cpadolf, completed in August 29, 2008. This is a solid improvement to the previous 100% run, showing a completely new route designed by hero of the day (Norfair items suitless, to save time in Kraid's Lair later), and alot of new speed tricks in various rooms. Super Metroid - 100% TAS in 0:37 by JXQ, completed in March 15, 2007. It uses a very optimized route, shows many stunning tricks, techniques, and incredible boss-strategies throughout the run. Author's comments: This is an improvement of 2 minutes and 25 seconds to my previous run. I never expected to get anywhere close to this much improvement. Note : This speedthroughs were played on an emulator, using game slow-down options and many quicksaves. This time attack is not a contiguous performance, and is for entertainment purposes only. Author's comments: Hi~ everyone! First this run obvoiusly was done on the emulator with my one year(on and off). This run was done by the famous 'Zsnes' emu.. 100% speed run of Super Metroid, completed on February 1 2004. Was the world record until February 24 2004. Note that part '5a' is an alternative to part 5, without using the 'murder beam' glitch on mother brain which achieves an end time of 1:01. Author's comments: First off, this run was done on a console, not an emulator. It is the NTSC cartridge. No chance of using save states or slowdown. All pure luck, and a dash of skill, I guess. Single-segment any% run of Super Metroid, done on April 23 2004. Available in both mpeg4 and DivX versions. Author's comments: Firstly, as you can see this is a no-save run; just a straight run in one sitting. Secondly, this pure speed run route and most of the tricks were based with the same as Ultima's. One thing that I did plan to do was saving one or two times, probably before heading to Maridia just to split the run in segments to make the file size shorter but if I do so, I'll have to do... Super Metroid - Reverse Boss Order TAS in 0:26 by Saturn, completed in July 7, 2012. Super Metroid - Any% "GT Code" TAS in 0:18 by Saturn, completed in February 23, 2011. This is a any% run of Super Metroid, demonstrating how to considerably shorten the completion time by using the "GT Code", a trick discovered in late 2010 by JAM. The purpose of a NBMB run in Super Metroid is to get as many items as possible after getting bombs, without ever fighting another boss or mini-boss. Although a lot items are easy to get, many require difficult tricks using glitches to achieve, such as items in Maridia and lower Norfair. Available in both mpeg4 and DivX versions.
